Pharmaceutical Technologies

Hawthorn Building

The Pharmaceutical Technologies Group is one of three principal academic groups within the Leicester School of Pharmacy, De Montfort University. The School is located in the Hawthorn Building, within the historical Newarke area of Leicester, close to both the city centre and the canal district.

Dr Mark Leaper, Senior Lecturer in the Pharmaceutical Technologies Section, has obtained a £285000 grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) to examine unwanted powder agglomeration (caking) in partnership with Unilever Research Port Sunlight. The project will last two years and use Atomic ForceMicroscopy (AFM) to look at how powders change at the nanoscale under humid conditions.
