Lectureships in Pharmaceutics

The Leicester School of Pharmacy is currently looking to recruit a number of part-time staff to teach pharmaceutics on the Pharmacy Masters degree and the Pharmaceutical Sciences Bachelor of Science degree.
Candidates should have:
1. A degree in pharmacy or pharmaceutical science or a related discipline (e.g. chemistry)
2. Working knowledge of product formulation and development
3. Working knowledge of laboratory scale manufacture of pharmaceutical products
Teaching experience (including the supervision of laboratory classes) is desirable, though relevant experience more essential. As a suitable applicant you may be looking for a career change, for example, from a career in the pharmaceutical or cosmetic industry or hospital pharmacy, or you may be approaching the end of a further period of study (e.g. MSc or PhD) and looking for experience in academia. Support and orientation within the teaching environment will be offered through mentoring and co-supervision of classes with experienced lecturers. Candidates may be offered a place on the PGCert HE course if appropriate to their needs.
You will be expected to supervise and assess practical classes and workshops on aspects of pharmaceutics (e.g. compounding of medicines) and pharmaceutical technology (e.g. small scale manufacturing). Each class has a typical duration of 3h, and is scheduled up to 6 times a week.
Travelling expenses are negotiable.
