2008 has seen the group expand its portfolio of research projects across a range of disciplines from drug delivery, to material science and process control.

Joan Taylor was awarded a Chair in Drug Delivery for her work on self-regulated insulin delivery while recently appointed staff have been successful in raising research funds through the EPSRC First Grant scheme. Further grants have been secured from diverse sources such as the TSB (Technology Strategy Board) collaborative R&D programme and NIHR's programme for New and Emerging Applications of Technology (NEAT) to develop a range of initiatives from freeze-drying process control to paediatric drug monitoring.
