Biography Dr Sangeeta Tanna is a Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics in the School of Pharmacy at De Montfort University. Dr Tanna’s research interests lie in the bioanalysis and drug delivery fields and she has co-developed a novel glucose-responsive gel biomaterial for insulin delivery and has expertise in drug formulation and the development of technologies including rheology and analytical method development for the in vitro testing of the insulin delivery system. She has a recent proven track record of a grant and several publications in this area and was also runner-up for the 2003 Westminster Medal and Prize for her research poster presented at the House of Commons Reception for Britain’s Top Younger Scientists, Engineers and Technologists at the House of Commons, Westminster. Dr Tanna now specialises in the development of novel microanalytical methods for the determination of drug levels from microvolume blood samples for the therapeutic drug monitoring of paediatric patients and has recently been awarded a NIHR - New and Emerging Applications of Technology (NEAT) feasibility grant in this area.
