Research StudentshipsPharmaceutical Technologies offer PhD studentships within its areas of expertise (subject to availability of funding and eligibility of the candidate). These fall into three categories depending on the source of funding: DMU Studentships; Research Council Studentships; Self-Funded and International Studentships. From time to time our University will offer small grants to assist international students with their fees. See this link for more information. HOW TO APPLY General information for Research Students (e.g. registration procedures) can be found on the Research Degrees Section of the University website. Availability: Fully funded studentships depend on what grants have been awarded to the group (for example, from the UK research councils). From time to time, De Montfort University will pay certain costs towards a studentship. However, it is often the case that the funding provided will only extend to the payment of the home student fees. International students would therefore be expected to top up the fees to the international student Eligibility: Studentships funded by the UK Research Councils (e.g. EPSRC) are ONLY offered to UK and EU citizens. Studentships funded by De Montfort University, and self-funded studentships are open to all. DMU Funded StudentshipsWe have one project currently available for a start date of October 2009. Project Title: Manufacturing Process Efficiency of Roller Compaction using On-line Terahertz Measurements. Closing Date June 4th 2009. See attachment for more details. Research Council: EPSRC Industrial CASE awardsIndividuals holding UK and EU passports may apply for an EPSRC CASE award through the Pharmaceutical Technologies group (subject to availability). These awards cover University fees and your bursary (for living expenses). Contact any of our staff to discuss opportunities for developing a CASE award application to the EPSRC. International and Self-Funded StudentshipsIf you are self funded (for example, an international student with financial support from your own government, or family) and interested in working with any of our staff, then please contact them to discuss your interests. Where possible we shall work with you to find suitable industrial partners to assist in the funding of your research project and to bring an industrial focus to your work.
